Turn On Multi‑Factor Authentication: The 5‑Minute Security Upgrade

May 15
1 min read

Use multi‑factor authentication (MFA) on email, banking, social media, and business accounts whenever it is available.

1. Open the account’s Security or Sign-in settings.

2. Look for 2-Step Verification, Two-Factor Authentication, or MFA.

3. Choose an authenticator app or passkey when available. Text messages are better than nothing, but stronger options are preferred.

4. Save backup codes somewhere secure and separate from the device you normally use.

Important: Never give an MFA code to someone who calls, texts, or emails asking for it.
